Mitch Stubbs

Mitch Stubbs is from Sydney North Region and has previously attended three Australian Jamborees, most recently at AJ2025 as the Deputy Contingent Leader.

“Jamborees are one of the biggest highlights in the Scouting calendar and I have such amazing memories from my time at Jamboree in 2010. I want to play a role in making the Jamboree experience for every NSW person the best it can be. Big events are always a hive of activity, and I find it extremely rewarding to work with a team of like-minded people to deliver amazing experiences for our members!”

Charlotte (Charlie) Johnston

Charlotte (Charlie) Johnston is a Rover from Kissing Point in Sydney North and a Venturer Scout Leader in Training at 1st Hornsby Heights. Charlie attended AJ2019 as a Scout and is excited to return as part of the AJ2028 leadership team.

“AJ2019 was one of the highlights of my Scouting journey. I loved the energy, the friendships and the sense of community. For two weeks, a whole new world comes to life. It's a truly unique experience. As Deputy Contingent Leader, I'm excited to help create that same experience for the next generation of Scouts and Leaders.”

Gai Green

Gai Green has been a Scout Leader since December 2003 and is currently the Deputy Chief Commissioner (Program, Youth and Adults in Scouting). Gai started her Jamboree journey in Elmore 2007 and has attended every Jamboree since then in varying roles. Gai runs a bookkeeping practice in her personal life, so being treasurer for the NSW contingent comes naturally.

“Going back to where my Jamboree journey started at Elmore is something I am looking forward to. Jamborees are the best camp ever, 2 weeks of a village feeling, working and scouting together building independence and seeing those smiles. I am excited to work with the NSW Contingent again and working with amazing Leaders and supporting our youth to have the best time.”

Gabie Thompson

Gabie Thompson has been a Scout Leader since 2007 and currently serves as Region Commissioner Cub Scouts for Greater Western Sydney Region. AJ2028 will be her sixth Australian Jamboree, having served in a variety of leadership and operational roles across previous events. As Director of Administration, Gabie will oversee the administrative functions that support the successful planning and delivery of the Jamboree, ensuring volunteers, participants, and stakeholders are supported every step of the way.

Having attended five previous Australian Jamborees, I've seen firsthand the incredible opportunities they create for young people to challenge themselves, make new friends, and build memories that last a lifetime. What makes a Jamboree truly special is the sense of community that comes from bringing together Scouts and leaders from across Australia. As Director of Administration for AJ2028, I am excited to support the dedicated team behind the event and help create an unforgettable experience for every participant, volunteer, and leader.”

Lisa Murphy

Lisa Murphy brings a wealth of experience in supporting the health, wellbeing and safety of young people and volunteers across Scouting. As Director of Health and Wellbeing for the NSW Contingent, Lisa will lead the planning and coordination of wellbeing initiatives, ensuring participants and leaders are supported before, during and after their Australian Jamboree experience.

Passionate about creating safe, inclusive and positive environments, Lisa is committed to helping every member of the contingent thrive and make the most of the opportunities that Jamboree offers.

“A Jamboree is so much more than a camp. It's a place where young people build confidence, resilience and lifelong friendships while challenging themselves in new and exciting ways. Supporting the health and wellbeing of our participants and leaders is essential to making that experience a positive one for everyone. I'm excited to be part of the AJ2028 team and to help create an environment where every member of the NSW Contingent can thrive.”

Adele Lockman

Adele Lockman first became a Scout Leader in 2005 and is currently a Cub Scout Leader with 1st/2nd Merrylands Scout Group and Assistant Production Director of Cumberland Gang Show. Adele has attended four Australian Jamborees in a range of leadership, entertainment, media and production roles, most recently as Co-Director of the Australian Jamboree Gang Show at AJ2016. Bringing a background in education, communications, event production and visual storytelling, Adele is passionate about connecting people through engaging content and sharing the experiences that make Scouting unique.

“Jamborees have been a special part of my Scouting journey. I've been fortunate to experience them from many different perspectives, from participant and performer to leader and producer. What I love most is the excitement a Jamboree creates. There is nothing quite like seeing thousands of Scouts come together to learn, grow and make memories that last a lifetime. As Director of Marketing, Communications and Media for AJ2028, I'm excited to share those stories and build excitement for the adventure ahead.”

Laura Willox

Laura Willox brings extensive Scouting experience and a passion for creating memorable experiences for young people. As Director of Logistics for the NSW Contingent, Laura will oversee the planning and coordination that helps keep the contingent running smoothly, ensuring participants and leaders can focus on making the most of their Jamboree adventure.

“There is a unique sense of community and adventure at a Jamboree that is difficult to put into words, and it is something I feel incredibly fortunate to have experienced. Some of my favourite memories have come from Jamborees; meeting amazing people from across the movement, stepping outside my comfort zone, taking on new and exciting challenges, learning new skills and importantly, making friendships that have lasted a lifetime. Most of all, I'm excited to see the Scouts, Junior Service Leaders and Leaders experience the magic of a Jamboree for themselves and create the stories and memories that they'll look back on for years to come.”

Larissa Tompsett

Larissa Tompsett is the State Commissioner – Scouts and Assistant Group Leader at 1st Hornsby Heights Scout Group and has previously attended two Australian Jamborees, AJ2019 and AJ2025, most recently as a Jamboree Scout Leader at AJ2025.

“What I love most about Jamborees is the atmosphere. Being away from home and surrounded by so many opportunities for fun, adventure and personal growth creates an experience unlike any other. Having experienced the magic of Jamboree firsthand, I'm excited to support our Jamboree Line Leaders as the AJ2028 Jamboree Scout Leader Advisor. By helping our leaders feel prepared, confident and well-supported, we can ensure they have a rewarding experience and are empowered to create unforgettable experiences for every young person attending AJ2028.”
