The NSW Contingent team welcomes you to AJ2025 and invites you to come and visit us at the NSW Headquarters.
Contingent team members will meet you when you disembark from your coach – whether it’s 5am or 8am – so look out for us in the red shirts.
Gifts from the NSW HQ
We’ve got welcome gifts for everyone that you’ll find in your Unit pack. NSW Contingent sunglasses, a cooling towel (yes, it’s going to be sunny and hot at AJ!) and a personal sunscreen (did we mention it’s going to be hot and sunny at AJ?). You’ll get your name bar, your Unit badges (for swapping), your AJ2025 ID and lanyard.
There is also a selection of special items that you can buy.
The Leader Retreat
The Leader Retreat at NSW HQ is a place for Leaders to go to enjoy a coffee (not instant).
Leaders who’d like to take a break from their day are invited to come to the NSW HQ Leaders Retreat to buy a coffee or tea or cold drink and something yummy to eat. We’re open from 9am until 5pm every day.
NSW HQ Events
Exclusive Leader events will be held at NSW HQ in the evening on:
- Wednesday 8 January
- Friday 10 January
- Monday 13 January
If you’re a Venturer Scout Service Leader or an adult Service Leader, you will receive an invitation to a Leader event at NSW HQ.
Heritage NSW is on display at NSW HQ. Come and visit to see some our significant collection items and to hear some of the stories of Scouting tradition.
If you’re feeling competitive and you need some time out of the sun, come and have a game of Regional Putt-Putt Golf at NSW HQ. You’ll notice that one of the holes even harks back to the last Jamboree at Tailem Bend.
More for you to know
NSW Media Team – The NSW Contingent Media team have had a change of uniform and you can now identify us by our blue vests with Official Media Team – Scouts NSW written on the back. If you see us, give us a shout so we can take some photos of your Patrol. If you’re feeling especially talented (or brave), we would love to record a reel of you singing, dancing, whatever you love to do at a Jamboree. Who know? You may end up more famous than BP!
Poles – If your Unit has arranged to hire poles from the NSW Contingent, please collect them from NSW HQ as soon as possible.
Welcome Team – When you arrive at the Jamboree site, members of the NSW Contingent will be there to welcome you. Look for us in the red shirts. Our coaches are expected to arrive from around 5am Monday and through until around 8am. We’ll give you some instructions when you arrive so you know what you need to do and where you need to go.
